It received two major awards: the Prêmio Concerto and the prestigious APCA Award (Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte). The APCA recognized the program as the year's outstanding song recital and chamber music performance.

With "Two Worlds in Songs", Josy Santos and Markus Hadulla build a musical bridge between Europe and South America, uniquely connecting the song traditions of both cultural spheres.

With Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs, Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, a selection of German-language songs by the Brazilian composer Alberto Nepomuceno, as well as Ernani Braga’s Cinco Canções Nordestinas and Ginastera’s Cinco Canciones Argentinas, we tell stories of tradition, culture, love, and heartbreak. We also share a little about my own story and artistic journey.

"It was my love for music that led me to cross the ocean, discover another culture, language, traditions, and also new challenges. I feel a responsibility to share what I have learned and to affirm what I can bring and present from my homeland."

Uirapuru – Liederabend im RegenwaldUirapuru – Art Songs in the RainforestUirapuru - Um Recital de Canções na Floresta Amazônica

The world breathes and sings only through cultural plurality, through mutual understanding and appreciation among the traditions of different nations.

While living abroad, the search for one's own cultural identity became a personal concern for many composers. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the collection of folk songs has served as a source of inspiration, including for the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. His Três Poemas Indígenas (1926) and Canções Típicas Brasileiras (1919) are the result of his systematic exploration of the musical and cultural landscapes of numerous Brazilian regions. This rich heritage was also explored by the Brazilian composer Waldemar Henrique, who set to music many tales and legends from the Amazon rainforest.

We place the vibrant and enchanting culture of Brazil in dialogue with the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera, who made Switzerland his permanent residence in 1971. In his Cinco Canciones Populares Argentinas (1943), he creates a prism of traditional songs and dances. In Spain, Manuel de Falla likewise explored the dances and folk songs of Asturias, Murcia, and Aragón. His cycle Siete Canciones Populares Españolas (1914) guides our ears toward more familiar musical landscapes.
